SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Position / Role:

As a JZID Senior Interior Designer in our Healthcare / Workplace areas, your role is to combine creativity and technical skills with thorough understanding of the design and production process, in order to produce highly creative, environmentally conscious and budget responsive spaces for clients. You should have exceptional design skills, a background in workplace design or interior architecture and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your team and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead interior design assignments that include detailed programming, conceptual design, space planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Provide strategically minded design support for organization, production, and execution of design projects
  • Participate in seamless collaboration with internal/external core & shell teams, professional consultants, and other strategic partners
  • Lead the FF&E scope of the project. This would include furniture sourcing and selection, preparing systems/ancillary presentation packages and specifications, selection of materials and finishes, and on-going coordination with furniture vendors through a bidding process or negotiated contract and installation
  • Participate in design iterations with team members by generating 3D models utilizing Revit, SketchUp, Enscape and/or other modeling or rendering software in conjunction with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Lead and participate in generating interior architectural, finishes, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details along with corresponding specifications and schedules
  • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to realize design and budgetary goals of the client
  • Guide and mentor junior designers and work in a collaborative manner with other design and technical staff
  • Help to build, nurture, and sustain client relationships in the workplace and healthcare industry
  • Lead and contribute to office activities, help communicate key firm initiatives and learning programs
  • Work closely with your team and across the office, to promote and model an inter-disciplinary design approach that enhances JZID’s culture of design quality and excellence
  • Perform QA / QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control)

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • NCIDQ certified required.
  • 10+ years of relevant interior design experience in Healthcare / Corporate Workplace with corresponding portfolio demonstrating various phases of project work. BBe prepared to show examples of programming, schematic, design development, and CDs as well as finished project photos
  • Ability to communicate and present design concepts and rationales. Ability to iterate to address client requests, budget considerations, existing or new architectural opportunities or constraints, or other impacts on design concept
  • Knowledge of sustainable and universal design concepts
  • Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, AutoCAD and/or other modeling software
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and proper specifications and procurement of same
  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Flexibility to focus on a single client with multiple project typologies or multiple projects in various stages of development
  • Must be a US Citizen and or permanent Resident legally working in the USA

INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER

What You Will Do:

  • Perform Interior Design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation and Construction Administration
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of finish selections, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
  • Generate Demolition Plans, Construction Plans, Power & Communication Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Finish Plans & Furniture Plans
  • Complete construction documents, including elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for bidding, permitting and construction
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
  • Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
  • Meet with clients, discuss their needs, prepare presentations and present your work
  • Construction administration including submittals and shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, change orders, client / construction meetings and punch list

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school
  • 4+ up to 8 years of interior design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D, any other modeling software programs such as Enscape, is a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Licensed (RID) Registered Interior Designer or Registered Architect is a plus
  • In the process of taking licensure exams is also a plus
  • Must be a US Citizen and or permanent Resident legally working in the USA
